Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

Last Updated: April 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Shared Parenting ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services (the "App").

1. Notice for Users in Israel

In accordance with the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, you are not legally obligated to provide us with any personal information. The provision of information is entirely voluntary and based on your free will. However, failure to provide the required information will prevent you from using the App's core features. The data collected will be stored in our registered database (if applicable and required by law) and used solely for the purposes outlined in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve our services.

Profile Data: Name, email, phone number, gender, location (city/state/country), profile photo, and timezone.

Children's Data: Information you provide about your children, including names, dates of birth, government-issued identification numbers (where applicable), basic physical details (if provided), educational details, medical information (allergies, medications, health funds), and photos.

App Content: Expenses, receipts, calendar events, custody schedules, chat messages, tasks, and uploaded documents.

Device & Technical Data: Device ID, model, OS version, language, FCM push notification tokens, and App version.

User Preferences: Settings such as dark mode, currency, and notification preferences.

3. How We Collect Information

Directly from You: When you register, create profiles, send messages, or upload documents.

Automatically: Through analytics and error-tracking tools (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Sentry) as you navigate the App.

From Third Parties: If you use Google or Apple Sign-In, we receive basic profile information from them.

4. How We Use Information

We use your data to:

  • Facilitate Shared Parenting by synchronizing data between you and your co-parent.
  • Send push notifications and transactional emails.
  • Provide customer support and respond to user reports.
  • Monitor app performance, fix crashes, and analyze usage trends.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR & Israeli Privacy Law)

We process your data based on:

Contractual Necessity: To provide the core functionality of the App (e.g., syncing calendars).

Consent: When you invite a co-parent or upload specific medical/sensitive data.

Legitimate Interest: To ensure App security, debug errors, and prevent fraud.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

The App is intended for use by parents and legal guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18. All child data is manually entered by the parent. By entering this data, you affirm you have the legal right and parental authority to do so and to share it with your co-parent.

7. Data Sharing with Co-Parents

Crucial Notice: When you join a "Partnership," any data you add regarding shared children, expenses, calendar events, documents, and messages is inherently and immediately shared with your co-parent. Please do not upload information you do not wish your co-parent to see.

8. Third-Party Service Providers

We share necessary data with trusted service providers:

Firebase (Google): For database hosting, authentication, and file storage.

RevenueCat: To manage subscription statuses and track purchase history.

Resend: To deliver magic link login emails.

Capawesome: For over-the-air App updates.

These providers process data on our behalf under strict data protection agreements.

9. Analytics & Session Recording

We use Sentry for performance monitoring and crash reporting. Sentry may collect technical session data for debugging purposes. We actively configure these tools to mask sensitive text inputs (such as identification numbers or passwords). We also use Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics 4) to track standard app usage events.

10. Device Permissions

The App requires certain device permissions to function:

Camera & Photos: To capture receipts, scan documents, and upload profile pictures. Photos captured in-app are saved to your device gallery.

Push Notifications: To alert you of new messages, expenses, and custody requests.

11. Data Storage and International Transfers

Your data is securely stored using Google Cloud Platform infrastructure located primarily in the me-west1 (Israel) region. However, depending on the third-party services utilized, your data may be processed in other global regions. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

12. Data Retention & Account Deletion

Retention: We retain Partnership data indefinitely as long as the Partnership exists, to ensure continuity for the co-parent.

Deletion: You may initiate account deletion in the App settings. Deletion is implemented as a "soft delete": your personal profile (name, email, phone) is permanently removed from Firebase Auth and anonymized in our database. However, data shared within a Partnership (messages, expenses, child profiles) will remain visible to your co-parent to preserve their records.

Legal Holds and Preservation of Evidence: Please be aware that deleting your account or uninstalling the App does not constitute a secure method for destroying evidence if you are involved in active or anticipated litigation. If we receive a valid legal hold notice or court order, we reserve the right to retain your data (including otherwise deleted or anonymized data, if still accessible in our system backups) for as long as legally required.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your personal account data.
  • Opt-out of certain data processing (where applicable).

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details provided below.

14. Security Measures

We employ industry-standard security measures, including Firebase server-side security rules, encrypted data transmission, and rate-limiting on sensitive operations. However, no electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notifications or email.
